John Hopson, P.E. and John Koppa join new DLEC office in California
Irvine, September 26, 2006: DL Engineering & Controls, Inc. (DLEC) opened its new Irvine, California office on June 1, 2006, to provide even more comprehensive local service to its clients. The new offices are located in the Tripointe Business Center at 20 Fairbanks, Suite 174, Irvine, California, 92618, in the Irvine Spectrum area. DLEC is pleased to announce the addition of two more experienced professionals to this rapidly growing office.
John Hopson, P.E., is a registered professional engineer in California and Pennsylvania, and joins the firm as a Programming Senior Project Manager. Hopson has previously worked as an employee and as a consultant with industrial controls software manufacturer Wonderware, and was on the development and enhancement teams for Industrial SQL ServerTM and InTouchTM. John earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and received a Professional Development Degree from the University of Wisconsin for research in electrical deregulation and advanced computer control. He also has received advanced training in a variety of subjects, including industrial power distribution, PLC programming, data communications for instrumentation and control, and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Administration, among others. Hopson brings with him over 15 years of professional experience in controls engineering and programming.
John Koppa is also joining the firm in their Irvine office as a Programming Project Manager. Koppa has extensive experience programming Modicon, Allen-Bradley, and Square D PLCs, and with U.S. Data Factorylink and Intellution iFix software. He has completed instrumentation and controls projects for the Orange County Sanitation District, the City of San Diego, and the Southern Nevada Water Authority, as well as Anheuser-Busch, among others. Koppa brings with him over 25 years of professional experience in instrumentation and controls programming.
DLEC Inc.’s Irvine office is leading the I&C programming efforts for the 100MGD Twin Oaks Valley Water Treatment Plant being constructed in San Marcos, California. When completed, the Twin Oaks Valley WTP will be the world’s largest membrane filtration water treatment plant.
